You have surely heard about all kinds of ways you can achieve healthy and glowing skin. Your friends, family members, or colleagues have probably shared a piece of advice with you or you read about skincare in some magazines. However, what works for one person won’t necessarily work for you. They have their own way of achieving healthy skin, and that journey might result in a disaster for you. With that said, there are some universal rules anyone can follow and achieve great results. Here are several dos and don’ts of skincare you can follow regardless of your skin type.

Do cleanse your skin every day

You can use the most expensive creams in the world, you can buy tons of natural products at Herbal Dynamics Beauty shop and find the most luxurious ointments, and all of that will be money down the drain if you apply them on dirty skin. Regardless of your skin type, you should make an effort to cleanse your skin on a daily basis so that it is free of dirt and grime.

Do exfoliate

Exfoliating will help you get rid of dead skin cells and lead to softer skin. However, the trick is not to overdo it. You should exfoliate twice a week, otherwise your skin will become sensitive and irritated.

Don’t spend too much time in the sun

Everyone likes sun-kissed skin, but if you want to be tan opt for a tanning cream or a spray tan. Acting like a rotisserie chicken in the sun can damage your skin, speed up the aging process, and what is even worse, increase the odds of skin cancer. Therefore, keep your skin covered with light materials and use an SPF cream before you leave the house.

Do read the directions

Every product comes with directions on the box. Those are not there so you can read them when you have nothing better to do, but to follow them for the best results. If a box says you should use the product twice a day, you should use it twice a day, and not once a day while complaining about how it doesn’t work.

Don’t share your skincare products with others

You need to keep your products fresh and clean, and that is a mission impossible if you share them with other people. If your friend or a family member uses your cream with dirty hands, they have turned your product into a bacteria culture growth chamber.

Do visit an esthetician

Going to see a skincare expert is a must, especially if you are no longer in your 20s. They will thoroughly cleanse your face, analyze your skin, and recommend products that will suit your skin type the most.

Don’t make your own face creams

There are so many YouTube tutorials that tell you how to make your own face cream. However, before you go to the kitchen looking for your coconut oil, remember that skincare products were made by chemists who made sure that these creams and lotions do not fall apart, separate, or go bad quickly. Also, they were all made in sterilized labs, not someone’s kitchen, so they are not loaded with bacteria.

Do see what’s new

Skincare technology is always evolving, and scientists are always discovering new, exciting, and useful things. It doesn’t hurt to read beauty blogs or magazines and see what is new in this field every once in a while.

Don’t give up easily

If you have dry skin and after two weeks of pampering your face nothing is happening, do not give up. Be persistent with your skin issues, research products, consult with professionals, regularly schedule facials and you will surely see the results. If you throw in the towel after the first step, you certainly won’t be able to achieve your goals.

Follow these tips, nurture your skin and we are sure that you will see the first results very soon.
