Going on vacation is a great way to de-stress, spend time with loved ones, and really get to know your own country. You might not have any idea where you want to spend your precious vacation time, especially since there are so many options. If you’re staying in the US, you might be tempted by some of the big, most well-known cities such as New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, but there are many other places besides these which might suit you better. Salt Lake City is one of them; here are some of the best reasons to visit.

The History

Salt Lake City has a lot of history around it, and for those who are interested in finding out more about how the country came to be or what caused certain places to be discovered and built on, this is the ideal vacation spot. There are dozens of tourist attractions to see there, and if you’re looking for a vacation during which you will always have something to do, this is the place to go.

For The Skiing

One sport in particular that Salt Lake City is excellent for, but perhaps not so well known for, is skiing. There is no need to travel to France, Switzerland, or Italy to go skiing when you can hire an RV or catch a train or internal flight and go to Salt Lake City.

There are 15 impressive ski resorts in and around the city, and, depending on what you want from your vacation, you can also enjoy spa days, golf courses, and some wonderful restaurants in the same areas.

State Parks

The US is so lucky to have a wide range of different state parks for the public to enjoy. Salt Lake City is no exception, and if you love the great outdoors, there is nothing better for you than to visit this area and go exploring.

These parks offer the best of Utah’s hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, hiking, and much more. Of course, you’ll need all the relevant permissions to do some of these activities, so make sure you check that out beforehand. Once everything is in place, you can go and enjoy your vacation in the most natural way possible – plus the scenery is magical and something you’ll never forget once you’ve experienced it.

As well as the state parks, Salt Lake City has a number of public gardens to its name. So if you love nature but don’t want to experience it quite as closely as you would if you went camping or hiking, the public gardens could be a perfect compromise. Sit in the gorgeous surroundings, take in the sights, read a book, listen to music, and even do some exercise. The choice is yours.

Great For Children

As far as family vacations go, it can sometimes be difficult to find somewhere that caters to every member of your group. Some places are great for adults but leave the children out, and some are perfect for children, but adults feel there should be more for them to do.

In Salt Lake City, you can have the best of both worlds; there are plenty of fun things for adults to do, for children to do, and for families to do altogether. Just some of these perfect vacation activities include:

As you can see, you can easily fill up your days in Salt Lake City, making this a fun adventure for you and your family, and if you want to know what special events you can all attend, you’ll find plenty of Salt Lake City events that cater for all.

The Restaurants

Something that will always be important when you travel anywhere on vacation is the food. When you’re away from home and you want to indulge a little, it’s good to know that you’re going to be able to do so.

In Salt Lake City, there are hundreds of excellent restaurants, bars, and cafes, as well as many different street food vendors, so there will always be something interesting and different to try. Alternatively, you’ll also be able to find familiar food that you know you are going to love – it all depends on your taste, of course, but the point is there is a choice in Salt Lake City. Whether you want Greek food, or Italian, or Mexican, or Indian, or French, or anything else, it’s there for you to suit your palate and your budget. There are lots of options for vegetarians too, with many vegetarian-based restaurants in the city.
